Any photographer or videographer will also likely want to invest in a good camera bag, which allows valuable kit to be transported between locations securely and comfortably. Camera bags differ from ordinary bags in that they have padded, customisable interiors that can be moulded around the specific shape of your cameras and lenses, keeping them much safer.

Filters are also some of the most popular photography accessories out there, from ND filters to control bright light levels, to polarisers that cut out reflections and glare for clearer images and more intense colours.

A good camera strap is going to be any photographer’s best friend – the last thing you want to hear is the sound of your expensive camera and lens hitting the ground because it slipped out of your hand! You may want to shield your camera from the rain, or just insure it against a bump or a knock. If the body, lens or internal components do get dirty, then having camera cleaning supplies to hand can be extremely useful. Many cameras with viewfinders are compatible with viewfinder accessories like eyepieces and eyecups that can make the viewing experience more comfortable – useful if you’re planning on an extended shoot.
