Highest Image Quality in The History of The X Series

Fujifilm’s X-H2 blends the compact and lightweight versatility of APS-C mirrorless cameras with an unmatched back-side illuminated X-Trans CMOS 5 HR imaging sensor to provide the next generation of hybrid image makers with the highest quality in the history of the X series. This high-resolution 40.2MP sensor has an improved image-processing algorithm that enhances image resolution without compromising the S/N level to produce astonishingly detailed results.

With this improved pixel structure, users can bring in greater amounts of light to enable ISO125 as a standard sensitivity rather than an extended option. This sensor makes the X-H2 perfect for daytime outdoor shooting and taking advantage of the large aperture. It also allows users to control exposure time with greater precision. As a result, Fujifilm has improved the fastest shutter speed for the electronic shutter by 2.5 stops from the previous 1/32000 sec to 1/180000 sec.

An X Series first: Pixel Shift Multi-Shot

As the first X Series to feature Pixel Shift Multi-Shot, the X-H2 delivers 160-megapixel images for incredible detail. Using the IBIS mechanism to shift the image sensor in 0.5-pixel increments, Pixel Shift Multi-Shot records 20 frames in a single shutter. The results are automatically combined into one DNG RAW file, which can be output to any desired file format using the dedicated software “Pixel Shift Combiner”. This software processes the captured frames to generate an image containing 160 million pixels, which is perfect for commercial photography and digital archiving.

Premium Video Performance

Using its native 8K video resolution, Fujifilm’s X-H2 provides a whole suite of video functions to unlock this camera’s full creative potential and deliver a comprehensive hybrid shooter for every moviemaking occasion. Whilst the X-H2 is capable of recording 8K movies internally at 30P in 4:2:2 10-bit colour, it also offers 2x digital zoom when shooting in 4K and support for 8K over-sampling.

The X-H2 also supports 3 Apple ProRes codecs; ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422, and ProRes 422 LT. When recording ProRes, proxy recording such as ProRes 422 Proxy is also available. Combined with the ability to record using the F-Log2 colour profile and extend to 13+ stops of dynamic range, the X-H2 is adept at reducing editing workflows for a more streamlined post-production experience.

Keeping in line with Fujifilm’s X-H2S, the X-H2 uses deep learning AI to provide a highly-advanced alternative subject detection autofocus that is capable of identifying a whole host of subjects. This new system is capable of keeping pace with everything from animals and birds, to cars, motorcycles, bicycles, aeroplanes, and trains – as well as human faces and eyes.

And, with a new sensor, the X-H2 has a greater number of phase detection pixels than current models, resulting in an improved ability to attain AF-S focus on a subject. Combined with the improved AF prediction algorithm, the X-H2 provides users with a more accurate focus for both landscapes and portrait photography as well as moving subjects when using AF-C.

A Complete Workflow Solution

For lone content creators, the X-H2 can transfer data wirelessly using the Fujifilm Remote Camera App. It can also be used as a webcam for live streamers, delivering resolutions of up to 4K/60p.
