Optical Structure
Packed into this compact lens is an advanced and intricate optical structure that’s made up of nine premium glass elements that are arranged into eight groups. Within these nine elements, three aspherical lenses reduce spherical aberrations and increase clarity, one ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lens that significantly suppresses chromatic aberrations and one UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lens that increases overall optical performance. The quality of these elements can be realised when used with compatible Panasonic S cameras, such as the Panasonic Lumix S5 Digital Camera.
Versatile
As a 50mm prime lens, this lens offers an impressive level of image quality and sharpness that is higher than that of a zoom lens with a similar focal range. The 50mm focal range is often used by photographers to capture dramatic portraiture and with this lens’s wide, bright and fast maximum f1.8, you’re afforded truly expressive control of depth of field for selective focus techniques. As well as this, the maximum aperture offers impressive low-light performance and the use of slow shutter speeds whilst maintaining image quality. As much as this lens excels for portraiture, it is a versatile lens that offers exceptional results for a range of other photographic disciplines such as street, landscape and travel photography. What’s more, this lens excels with video work. It features an advanced mechanism that suppresses focus breathing and micro-step aperture control for smoother exposure changes.
