The Pentax 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 ED AL IF DC WR Lens has been designed to be compact and lightweight despite its high zoom ratio, making it a versatile, maneuverable everyday-use lens. A simplified weather-resistant construction and an extra-smooth autofocus operation using a built-in motor, in addition to its high 7.5-times zoom ratio, allow the DA 18-135mm WR to accommodate a wide range of subjects and scenes that photographers come across in their shooting sessions — from scenic images and snapshots to portraits and sports photos.

When mounted on a PENTAX digital SLR camera body, this standard zoom lens offers a high zoom ratio of 7.5 times, covering the focal length range between 27.5mm wide angle and 207mm telephoto in the 35mm format. This high zoom ratio gives it the versatility to accommodate a wide range of subjects and scenes. Thanks to advanced PENTAX optics design technology, it is compact and lightweight, despite its high zoom ratio, making it a versatile, maneuverable everyday-use lens.

High-Resolution, Accurate & Versatile

You might think that in a world that's moving towards exclusively mirrorless systems, what can an APS-C DSLR camera offer me? Well, the K-3 Mark III features an array of technology that enables the capture of beautiful and dramatic images and videos, and its compact and lightweight design makes it perfect for travel photographers and videographers. The K-3 III is equipped with a high-resolution 25.7-megapixel APS-C imaging CMOS sensor and Prime V Image engine & accelerator unit which not only can capture stunning images but offers beautifully crisp 4K and Full HD video capture, and the camera allows for up to 25 minutes or 4GB of constant recording.

To complement these capture features, the K-3 Mark III is fitted with Pentax's advanced and intelligent 5-axis sensor-shift shake reduction 'SR II' IBIS that offers a stabilisation compensation effect of 5.5 steps. This ultimately results in significantly reduced camera shake in stills and smoother video capture. In addition to this, the camera is afforded a newly designed AF system that offers fast and accurate phase-matching autofocus that is able to accurately track subjects even with the K-3 Mark III's extremely fast continuous shooting speeds.

AA Filter Simulator

Brought to us in the original K-3 camera body and seen throughout this series is one of the world's first AA filter simulation systems. This simulation technology recreates the effects of an optical AA filter by applying microscopic vibrations to the CMOS imaging sensor during exposure, resulting in significantly reduced false colours and moiré. This intelligent system gives you three settings that result in different levels of the effect such as finding the best balance between image resolution and moiré, prioritisation of moiré compensation and finally a prioritisation of image resolution. The result of this advanced system is that when using the K-3 Mark III you effectively reap the benefits of two completely different cameras - a high-resolution AA-filter-free camera, and a highly colour accurate and moiré assured AA-filter camera.

Ergonomics & Ease-of-Use

The goal of the K-3 III was to develop a camera that allows you to effectively concentrate on your image-taking without working about the rest of the camera, allowing you to truly communicate directly with your subject and scene. For this reason, the K-3 III features some differences in shape and ergonomics, including the optimisation of the grip shape and control layout to provide optimum comfort and shooting and ease-of-use with all hand sizes and finger lengths.

Pentax value viewfinder shooting and because of this, the focus of the build was on the viewfinder image and the camera's image-tracking performance. Because of this, the K-3 III features a high-quality fixed-type touch LCD panel. During development, decisions were made to prioritise compactness and sturdiness of the K-3 III body and without the sophisticated and often bulky articulated LCD mechanisms seen on other models, the K-3 III has an overall reduced body-size and internal structure.
