Expanded Polaroid B+W Film for 600 Key Features:

ASA 640 Film Speed

The high film speed of ASA 640 ensures good image quality with a long tonal scale. It is ideal for shooting in low-light conditions and can capture fast-action shots. The higher film speed means higher sensitivity to light.

Instant Black and White Film

The instant film produces monochrome images with a broad tonal scale. It reproduces deep black and bright white tones with a fine grain structure.

Camera Battery

The film comes with a small battery that can be used to power the vintage 600-series cameras that have no rechargeable battery.

Develops Instantly

The already-present chemicals in the instant film react to develop the monochrome image within 5-10 minutes after exposure. The image develops in front of your eyes and yields the best results when developed in shade.

FAQs:

What is the difference between the ASA and ISO rating?

Both the ASA and ISO numbers are measurements of the film speed or a film’s light sensitivity. The ASA scale was created by the American Standards Association and the ISO was created by the International Organization for Standardization. ASA is no longer widely used to measure film speed, but is the same as ISO. ISO scale is the commonly used scale now and ISO 640 is the same as ASA 640.

How should the film be stored?

The unexposed film should be stored in its original packaging at a cool, dry place; away from high temperature and high humidity. The recommended storing temperature is 4-degree Celsius to 18-degree Celsius, but do not freeze film. Allow the film to warm up to temperature before shooting to get the best results. Even after exposure, the developed Polaroid should be kept away from high temperatures and harmful gases.

How can the Polaroid pictures be scanned?

The Polaroid pictures can easily be scanned using either of these methods: flatbed scanning, sheetfed scanning, digital camera scanning, and app-based smartphone scanning. Smartphone scanning is the most convenient option which requires the least amount of specialised technology.

Which cameras are compatible with the film?

This black and white film is compatible with the vintage Polaroid 600-series cameras. It has a battery to power these cameras and can also be used with the Polaroid i-Type cameras.

What is an instant film?

The instant film is like a regular camera film with the ability to develop instantly. It has colour sensitive layers and the already-present developing chemicals react with them to instantly develop images in front of the eyes. Usually, a black and white film takes about 5-10 minutes to develop and a colour film takes about 10-15 minutes. These films yield the best results when developed in the shade, away from strong light.
