Designed for Full-Frame Sony FE bodies, this lens offers an 18.9° angle of view that’s delivered through its advanced optical design of 13 elements in 11 groups (including 1 U-ASP, 2 HR and 3 ED lenses.)

Complimenting the optical structure is this lens’s wide, bright and fast f1.8 aperture. Effective use of this aperture allows this lens to excel in low-light shooting situations as well as offer enhanced control of subject-background separation and depth of field. In addition, this aperture (and the use of the lens’s UA (Ultra-precision Aspherical) lens) can produce beautifully natural and refined bokeh.

When it comes to autofocus, this lens is built to match the speed of Sony’s E-mount cameras. The lens is equipped with Samyang's Linear STM (Stepping Motor) that is designed to suit both photographers and videographers with quieter and more accurate control of the focusing lens groups. Furthermore, the Samyang AF 135mm f1.8 Lens for Sony E is compatible with Sony’s Real-time Tracking/Cinematic Control and therefore, can quickly, accurately and quietly track subjects in both stills and video.

It’s impressively compact and lightweight considering its focal reach and it features a range of functions designed to increase efficiency and ease of use for both stills and video use.

These include three customisable functions: Focus Hold button that will keep the lens focusing distance locked. A Custom Switch that can be set to allow adjustment of the aperture by rotating the focus ring. And finally, the Focus Range Limiter switch that while only operational in AF mode, can be used to speed up focusing between a pre-determined focus distance.

Can I use this on an APS-C body?

While this lens is aimed at Full-Frame FE Sony bodies, it can be used on APS-C E mount bodies where it gives a 12.5° angle of view and an equivalent focal range of 202.5mm.

Is this lens weather-proof?

Samyang has developed this lens with modern, weather-sealing engineering that protects the lens from light rain, snow and dust. It also features a micropatterned rubber focus ring that is easy to operate even in adverse weather.

What Focus Range Limiter options can I use?

Focus Range Limiter can be moved forward or backwards to select either:

• FULL: Range set between infinity and 0.69m (MFD)
• 0.69m - 2m: Range set between 0.69m and 2m for close-ups.
• 1.5m - Infinity: AF range set from 1.5m to infinity, suitable for normal shooting.

What filters can I use with this lens?

This lens features an 82mm filter thread that is suitable for a wide range of filters.
