A new standard in APS-C superzoom versatility
Built for Canon RF mount APS-C mirrorless cameras, the Sigma 16-300mm f3.5-6.7 DC OS Contemporary introduces Sigma’s highest-ever zoom ratio in a compact, all-in-one lens. With a powerful 18.8x range from 16mm to 300mm, it offers exceptional framing flexibility—allowing photographers to switch seamlessly between sweeping landscapes, intimate portraits and distant wildlife without changing lenses.
Advanced optics
Sigma built the 16-300mm f3.5-6.7 DC OS Contemporary lens around a sophisticated optical construction of 20 elements in 14 groups, including FLD, SLD and four aspherical elements to minimise chromatic aberration, distortion and edge softness across the entire zoom range. A 9-blade rounded diaphragm produces a smooth, circular bokeh, while a minimum focusing distance of 17cm at the wide end and 105cm at the telephoto end allows for detailed close-ups with excellent clarity.
Close-up capability with 1:2 macro performance
At 70mm, the lens achieves a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2, allowing creators to capture intricate macro-style detail. From flowers and textures to product shots and small wildlife, this close-focusing capability makes the lens ideal for hybrid shooters who want to expand into creative close-ups without investing in a separate macro lens.
Fast and silent autofocus
Equipped with Sigma’s HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motor, the 16-300mm f3.5-6.7 ensures fast, smooth and near-silent autofocus. Whether tracking moving subjects like birds, motorsports or active children, the lens locks focus quickly and accurately—making it a practical option for both stills and video shooters who require dependable focus performance across a wide focal range.
OS2 stabilisation for handheld confidence
With Sigma’s latest OS2 algorithm built in, the lens provides up to 6 stops of stabilisation at the wide end and 4.5 stops at 300mm. This feature ensures sharp handheld results at longer focal lengths or in low light. Ideal for travel, events, and everyday photography, it reduces the need for a tripod, giving photographers more flexibility in the field.
Designed for portability and reliability
Despite its broad focal range, the lens is compact and travel-friendly, weighing just 625g and measuring 121.4mm in length. A zoom lock switch prevents lens creep, and the construction features dust- and splash-resistant sealing with a water- and oil-repellent front coating. It’s a practical choice for photographers shooting in unpredictable outdoor conditions.
