Advanced Recording Technology

This next-generation audio recorder is packed with advanced features to make it perfectly suited for professional video productions and podcast recording. 96kHz, 32-bit floating point technology always captures high-resolution, high-quality audio. The 32-bit floating point in particular provides a much lower floor and higher ceiling for sound, so you can easily capture everything from quiet rustles to loud performances.

The Portacapture X6 sports two built-in condenser microphones but also two XLR inputs so you can plug in your own microphones. Six tracks can be simultaneously recorded, which breaks down into four individual tracks and a stereo mix, making the handheld Portacapture X6 capable in complicated setups and large projects.

Effortless Operation

Even with professional recording capabilities, the Portacapture X6 is simple to use. A large 2.6-inch colour touchscreen display is home to an easy-to-navigate interface that lets you access useful tools with a few taps. The Launcher lets you quickly select six different recording applications designed to excel in certain situations. These include Manual, Voice, Podcast, Music, Field and ASMR.

To make extensive use of the Portacapture X6 easier to use over multiple projects, input settings, unit settings and recording app settings can be saved as different presets and activated with a single tap from the Launcher. Physically using the recorder is just as effortless thanks to its compact and lightweight build.

Flexible, Versatile Options

The Portacapture X6 doesn’t just provide high-quality audio capture but also the flexibility to utilise the recorder for different scenarios. The built-in stereo microphones can be instantly converted from an A-B microphone pattern, useful for medium-distanced applications such as instruments and bands, to an X-Y pattern which is typically useful for closer applications such as speech and dialogue. No matter the pattern used, a HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) preamplifier provides ultra-low noise and clean audio.

Thanks to a built-in signal processor, you can polish your audio with the help of a compressor, limiter, high-pass filter, EQ and reverb, so you can immediately share your recorded audio. The Portacapture X6 also gives you the option to either record in WAV (BWF) or MP3 formats, and a 1/4” thread on the back of the recorder allows you to attach it to cameras and stands.
